On Tuesday, May 2, Lieutenant Governor Pence will visit
four prisons in the LaGrange area. He
will begin at the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women in PeWee
Valley, proceed to the Roederer Correctional Complex, Kentucky State Reformatory
and end with a tour of Luther Luckett Correctional
Complex. In addition to celebrating
employees’ week, Luckett is also commemorating its
25th anniversary.
“This is a great opportunity for Lt. Governor Pence to
celebrate the professionalism and commitment of our employees” said
Commissioner John D. Rees. “I am
extremely proud of our prisons and the level of professionalism our employees
exhibit.”
Each prison will celebrate during the week with cookouts,
special snacks, prizes and institutional tours. All monies for special food and events have
been raised by staff and many prizes have been donated by local merchants
from Oldham and Shelby
counties.
