Lieutenant Governor Stephen B. Pence to Visit With Prison Staff During Correctional Employees’ Week

Frankfort, KY – Lieutenant Governor Stephen B. Pence along with Commissioner John D. Rees will join Department of Corrections (DOC) employees during their celebration of “Correctional Employees’ Week” (May 1-6).    

On Tuesday, May 2, Lieutenant Governor Pence will visit four prisons in the LaGrange area.  He will begin at the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women in PeWee Valley, proceed to the Roederer Correctional Complex, Kentucky State Reformatory and end with a tour of Luther Luckett Correctional Complex.  In addition to celebrating employees’ week, Luckett is also commemorating its 25th anniversary.

 

“This is a great opportunity for Lt. Governor Pence to celebrate the professionalism and commitment of our employees” said Commissioner John D. Rees.  “I am extremely proud of our prisons and the level of professionalism our employees exhibit.”

 

Each prison will celebrate during the week with cookouts, special snacks, prizes and institutional tours.  All monies for special food and events have been raised by staff and many prizes have been donated by local merchants from Oldham and Shelby counties.

The EMR system incorporates E-contacts as a mechanism for reducing medical transports for specialty care consults.
