On October 15, 2003 the
Kentucky Department of Corrections commenced providing specialty medical care
for their inmates under the newly established Kentucky Correctional Health-Care
Network (KCHSN). This network provides
discounted medical services using public-sector physicians along with regional
hospitals. CorrectCare
developed and implemented the systems at the direction of the
Initial projections indicate
that savings in the neighborhood of 30% will be realized.
